About

Why we built this

Why KinopiQ exists, who publishes it, where the standards data comes from and what happens to the documents you upload.

Every product AKdev publishes starts the same way. Something we needed, where what already existed was priced well beyond what the job was worth, or was available and simply not very good. KinopiQ is the accreditation one.

Where the standards data comes from

The six frameworks are held as reference data inside KinopiQ, transcribed from the published standards. Maintaining that is the work: when a standard is reissued, the catalogue is updated centrally and every workspace sees the change. The frameworks page lists the edition tracked for each.

KinopiQ is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting on behalf of B Lab, ISO, the GRI, the ISSB or the UK government. It is a tool for preparing your own answers.

Where the model is, and where it is not

KinopiQ uses a language model to read a document you upload and propose the requirements it is evidence for, across the standards you are working toward. That is the part that otherwise takes an afternoon of cross-referencing. You confirm or reject what it finds, and nothing is counted until you do.

The readiness score is not a model. It is the share of the requirements that apply to you which you have marked as met, so the same record gives the same score and you can explain to an assessor how it was reached. Nothing answers for you: every answer on your record is one you confirmed.

Where a model goes and where it does not is a decision AKdev takes across every product it publishes, and it is written down.

The name

KinopiQ has no acronym behind it and does not stand for anything. It was chosen because it was short, sayable and unclaimed.

Who builds it

KinopiQ is built and published by AKdev Ltd, a small independent software studio registered in Scotland, Companies House number SC892925. It is not venture funded and there is no second revenue line. The subscriptions are the business, which is why the privacy policy can promise there is nothing here to sell.

Small cuts both ways and it is worth saying which ways. Support reaches the people who build the product rather than a tier of it, so answers tend to be direct and reasonably quick. It also means work happens in an order rather than in parallel, and a request that would be a sprint somewhere larger may simply be a no here. If what you need is a platform with a roadmap and an account manager, that is a legitimate requirement and this is not it.

What happens to your data

Your documents stay yours, and you can download them at any time. They are held privately: only members of your workspace can reach them, and another workspace cannot.

A document you upload is read by a language model so that KinopiQ can propose what it is evidence for. To do that it leaves AKdev: it is sent to an AI provider — Anthropic, AWS or Microsoft, listed in the sub-processor register — and nowhere else. It is not sold.

Retention, deletion and export are governed by AKdev’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, which cover every app it publishes. If KinopiQ were ever discontinued you would be given notice and a window to take everything with you — that commitment lives in the Terms rather than only on this page.
